ORLY – Space Cadet

Last night I was in the mood for something interesting- and as I went hrough my stash, Space Cadet practically jumped right into my hands. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed it yet! Space Cadet is from ORLY’s Cosmic FX collection from the Fall of 2010.

Space Cadet is a fascinating multichrome – copper, pink, purple, hints of green and blue – all there. Probably the nicest thing about Space Cadet is that it translates well from the bottle to nail. It’s a stunner!

Application was fine, the polish went on smoothly – but I did need 4 coats . However, you could probably get away with just 3.

The CosmicFX line was a bit pricier than normal ORLY collections, each polish retailed for $10. Alli picked up Galaxy Girl on clearance, and I also reviewed Out of This World from this collection. Overall, I think Space Cadet is the star of the collection.

Orly – Out of This World

I have to start off saying I love ORLY polishes – I love the the bottle, I love the cap, I love the brush – their formulas have yet to let me down. I passed on the Plastix Collection and waited for the Cosmic FX Collection. When I finally saw it in stores, I have to say I really wasn’t all that wowed by it. Sure Space Cadet is pretty fabulous – but it’s not very “me.” So last night at Ulta I picked up Out of This World. The display was completely picked over and all that was left was OOTW and It’s not Rocket Science which I know would look awful on me.

Overall – I think its is a nice polish. It is described as having silver and pink fx – I don’t really see it – It looks like a nice medium dark blue based purple with lots of microglitter.  Actually,  it reminds me alot of OPI’s Visions of Sugarplums. The application was good – very opaque and I only needed two coats. I don’t think it’s worth 10$ because to be honest – it’s just not that amazing. Nice? Sure, but if you have anything similar, you really don’t need this one.
