SinfulColors Paradise

Since SinfulColors polishes are on sale this week at Walgreens I thought it would be appropriate to post one of my favorites! I picked this up from the Tropical Ecstasy display awhile ago and have worn it quite a bit this Spring and Summer.

Paradise is a pale bright blue creme. It’s a lovely color and application was good; I used three coats.

This is similar to other polishes in my collection though I don’t seem to have a dead on dupe. H&M U Must Have This has slightly more white making it a tad bit brighter, and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Blue Me Away is significantly brighter.

SinfulColors Pull Over

For the longest time I have really wanted OPI The “It” Color. I even tweeted about it the other day! This is problematic on several levels. First of all, I can’t seem to find it anywhere and secondly, it’s a crazy yellow that I certainly wouldn’t get much use out of.

As luck would have it, the other day when I was at Walgreens I spotted the Sinful Colors Tropical Ecstasy display. This was odd in that this display was originally popping up over a year ago (when I picked up Fly Away from this collection). So I have no idea if SinfulColors is repromoting the Tropical Ecstasy displays or if this particular Walgreens is just really behind the times, but either way, Pull Over immediately caught my eye because it looked similar to OPI The “It” Color.

Pull Over is a warm orange leaning yellow creme. Despite having obvious warm undertones, this didn’t look awful on me. Application was surprisingly good. I am always wary of polishes in this color range, but Pull Over applied nicely in three coats.

When I showed Katie this polish she automatically thought it looked like China Glaze Papaya Punch. Papaya Punch is quite a bit more orange, though they are sort of similar. As far as likeness to OPI The “It” Color…my lemming is definitely satisfied. The Polish Addict has a good swatch of The “It” Color and comparing the swatches they are definitely not complete dupes, but they are VERY close.

It’s always a great feeling to satisfy a lemming 🙂

SinfulColors Beverly Hills

Do you ever leave the bar and start heading home even though you don’t really want to go home so you decide to stop at the 24 hour Walgreens and do a little late night nail polish shopping? No? Probably not, because you probably aren’t crazy like I am. But, that is how I came to obtain this nail polish. I had been wanting this nail polish more or less for the name so luckily I spotted the SinfulColors Beverly Hills display.

Beverly Hills is a very pale pink leaning purple creme. When on this polish is very subtle, which I love considering it’s not your normal subtle nude or pink. The formula was great; 2 coats would have been fine but I am an habitual 3 coater so I did use 3.

I find this name very appropriate for this color; super chic and subtle. While Beverly Hills isn’t exactly subtle, I can definitely see myself wearing this next time I’m shopping on Rodeo Drive.

Make sure to check out Katie’s post on another polish from this collection; Verbena.

SinfulColors Open Seas

You can always depend on SinfulColors to unapologetically copy OPI. When I spotted their latest release, Adventure Island, at Rite Aid I wasn’t shocked to see that they released a collection similar to OPI’s current Pirates of the Caribbean collection but I was shocked to see that they duped every single polish.

I settled on Open Seas, which is a dupe for OPI Mermaid’s Tears. It’s a really pretty ever so slightly dusty seafoam green. The dustyness is what makes this slightly different from Orly Ancient Jade.

The formula and application were fine. I used three coats and didn’t have any problem with bald spots or streaks.

SinfulColors Fly Away

SinfulColors Fly AwayI went to Walgreens for the first time in ages last week to take advantage of their 40% off Maybelline sale (by the way, the Super Stay 24 lip color is amazing!) when I spotted a new SinfulColors display; Tropical Ecstasy. Fly Away immediately caught my eye but as with all SinfulColors displays, I thought it might be a repromote. I checked the permanent display as well as the website and this color was no where to be found. So, I think this is a new color (some others on the display were definite repromotes).

Fly Away is a medium bright blue creme. The color is very similar to OPI Ogre the Top Blue (but lacks the dustyness Ogre has) and therefore very hard to capture on camera. The second picture is as close to color accurate as I could get. In person it is slightly brighter.

Sinful Colors Fly AwayThe formula is very opaque but slightly streaky. I used only two coats but the streakiness on my pinky is pretty obvious in pictures though much less obvious in person.

One thing that really impressed me about this polish was the wear. On the second day or wear this manicure still looked perfect after a full day of cooking and cleaning. That doesn’t happen very often.

Walgreens is the only place I’ve seen this display. SinfulColors retail for a cool $1.99.

Sinful Colors – Dream On (Neon)

Sinful Colors - Dream On I really liked Dream On. It’s a neon (though I don’t know if it was on the Neon Nights display – I’ve had it for a while). I have to say I love the color – and it’s a bit bolder than my pictures show and it doesn’t scream neon, which I like as well. However – the application was kind of awful. It dried matte -which was completely expected since it’s a neon – but it took 4 coats and I still had visible nail lines – though no one else noticed and I got lots of compliments on my nails when I wore it. Overall though, I liked it and I’ll wear it again. I think it’d look spectacular on my toes or with glitter layered over top.
