Nailspiration: 2012 Golf US Open

The 112th US Open is this weekend at the Olympic Club in San Francisco. I quite enjoy watching golf as I’ve mentioned several times on this blog. But I’ve never done any kind of golf nail art. For a first attempt I like the way this manicure came out though I did perhaps go a little overboard in an attempt to make it 3D!

I used so many different nail polishes to create this nail art, but the main colors are OPI Just Groovy and Essie Mojito Madness. I followed the steps in my DIY Caviar Manicure post in an attempt to make the grass and the golf ball on my ring finger 3D. Otherwise, I mostly freehanded all of the nail art. Below the jump there is a list of everything I used (along with the nail art polishes and microbeads).

This was a fun themed manicure to wear. I can’t imaging the nail polish and golf worlds merge very often!

My picks for this year’s open are Jason Dufner (I always pick him because he went to my college!), Luke Donald, Zach Johnson (who looks exactly like my boyfriend…it’s creepy), Martin Kaymer and Stewart Cink. I always do terribly with my picks, but it’s fun none the less!

Below the jump there are a few more swatches 🙂

Polishes used: Maybelline Express Finish Black Onyx, Essie Mojito Madness, JulieG Gelato in Venice, OPI Just Groovy, Ulta Snow White, Julep Daisy

  1. Very well done – I am a biggie PGA fan and looking forward to the next 3 rounds at US Open – held at the Olympic Club – lake course in San Francisco, CA – it’s a beautiful course I was luck enough to play 2 times as a guest of another member.

  2. Hey! A good way to use my stash of yellows! 😉
