Way back in October when I first heard about OPI’s Spring 2013 Euro Centrale collection I was super excited. Most of my favorite OPI collections have a European theme to them.
The collection was released on February 6th. I spotted the display in Ulta and was immediately drawn to OPI…Eurso Euro. First of all, the play on words is amazing. Secondly, I’m a sucker for dark blue polishes.
OPI…Eurso Euro is a deep purple based blue creme that inches towards navy but never quite gets there. OPI claims that “this deep blue cream is very continental.” Well, ok, if you say so Suzi!
The formula isn’t my favorite. It’s a bit thick yet runny at the same time (I realize that makes no sense….). With careful application it wasn’t bad. I used 3 coats in my swatches.
While I love this color I can’t help but feel I’ve seen it before. My first thought was Orly La Playa but it has less purple. Ulta Moody Blues has too much blue. It looks quite alot like the dress Lindsay Lohan is wearing on my favorite Elle cover ever and it also matches the current Gucci ad quite swimmingly but I can’t think of a dupe.
I wore this polish over the weekend and wanted to spice it up a bit for a Saturday night out. I added Revlon Top Speed Celestial FX (a full review of that polish is coming soon…I promise!) to my ring finger and I absolutely adored it. I love it so much I tweeted a little sneak peek but there are more swatches of that below the jump.
I’d love to know what you’ve picked up from the Euro Centrale collection!
I have been doing medical ‘again’ out of my home area so been staying now 3 weeks in for me what is a big city – thou not up for venturing out of the little area of it I am in – I did go to a close by Beauty Supply and saw in person this new OPI collection. I had not been too impressed with the photos I had been seeing so did not order any sight unseen and pretty glad I did not now that I have seen the in person. Nothing jumped out at me as anything really new for my stash. I love collecting blues but nothing in this collection rocked my socks. Maybe I am kind of getting jaded with so many polishes I have and don’t even wear or never wore yet? Not sure. But this collection was one I could leave at the store. Feel the same about the ChG Avant Garden that has flooded the net with photos and yet it won’t be out until March…I am already tried of looking at it. Maybe this is the year I will finally save some $ on my polish buying!
My problem is the names! How could someone as fascinated with Europe as I am not buy a polish named Eurso Euro! lol
Gorgeous! I’m wearing it right now too 🙂
Nail twins!
I’m really excited about this collection! Love this shade of blue.
Isn’t it lovely? I just love a good blue polish 🙂
