JulieG Sound the Alarm (+ a comparison to Essie Hip-anema)
Sometimes, particularly after I wear alot of crazy nail polish, I start to crave a good old fashion red manicure. Red manicures are clean and chic. Plus, red compliments almost any outfit.
Sound the Alarm is part of the new polishes added to the JulieG line in 2013. When I saw Sound the Alarm in the JulieG display at Rite Aid I knew it’d made a perfect summer red polish.
Sound the Alarm is a bright red creme with significant pink undertones. It’s bright but not neon, though definitely eye catching!
The formula is fabulous. I used just 2 coats in my swatches.
As I was wearing Sound the Alarm I realized it reminded me of a new release from Essie, Hip-anema. As it turns out they are not dupes but they are VERY close. Hip-anema is just a bit warmer than Sound the Alarm. There is a comparison swatch below the jump along with additional swatches of Sound the Alarm.
