Sometimes if you keep trying something over and over it eventually works out. This is definitely the case with me and nail polish strips/ wraps/ appliques/ stickers/ whatever that are not made from actual nail polish.
I was reading an article in the January issue of Glamour about NCLA nail wraps. Glamour and NCLA teamed up to a collection of designer inspired nail wraps. $5 from each set goes to Girls Who Code, a non-profit aimed at educating and empowering women who are pursuing careers in technology and engineering.
When I saw the Bibhu Mohapatra designed nail wraps I was sold. I have a secret love for tribal prints.
Overall I was very impressed by these nail wraps. As a matter of fact, I have already ordered more! For all the details on these nail wraps (along with info on the packaging, application, wear time, removal, etc) check below the jump!
PS: I’m currently giving a set of these away! Make sure to enter here.
Packaging: The packaging is very basic. Two sheets that each contain 22 nail wraps and a large nail file come in the basic envelope cardboard style packaging. The sheets of nail wraps are in plastic though it is not air tight.
Instructions: The directions to apply these nail wraps are fairly basic. To summarize: apply the strips to a clean nail then file off the excess. I found these to be very easy to apply. Unlike other nail strips, I didn’t have any problem smoothing these out therefore I was left with no wrinkles or bubbles.
Wear: I wore these for a full 6 days. That is a minor miracle for me! As you can see, even on day 6, all I had was a little tip wear. Nothing major. I could have easily kept wearing these but I’m pretty sure I was boring the interwebs with my constant tweeting about these wraps!
Removal: Considering how well these wore I was kind of worried removal would be difficult. As it turns out removal is quite easy. I just peeled off the nail wraps then used regular nail polish remover to get off any residue. Most of what was left on my nail was top coat.
Overall I was very impressed with these wraps. In the past I have had TERRIBLE luck with products like this so I’m happy that I’ve finally found some I think are worth the money!
These wraps retail for $16 a set (you do get more wraps than most brands…44 overall). For more information on NCLA as a brand check out my post on NCLA AM: Beauty Sleep, PM: Shopping Spree.
