Zoya Pixie Dust – Nyx

Zoya - Nyx (Lightbox)Okay! You win! I finally understand the textured polish trend! When OPI started releasing their Liquid Sand polishes – I just didn’t get it. I’ve always hated having bumpy nails and the idea of doing it on purpose? EEK! So I passed on those. But then…. I saw Zoya’s Pixie Dust promos… and knew right away if I was going to give this trend a shot – it would be with Zoya’s Nyx. Fast forward a few weeks and I’ve tried it, and I’m a little bit in love with it…

What won me over? There is SO much sparkle! When I look at my nails I think of gum drops or a glittery winter wonderland – this polish is just so pretty. Zoya describes Nyx as: a perfect periwinkle with a sugared sparkle, in the exclusive Zoya PixieDust Matte Sparkle formula. I’ll go with that! Periwinkle sugared sparkle is spot on!

I love this polish so much that I actually want to go back and pick up a few more Zoya Pixie Dust polishes and maybe even venture into OPI’s Liquid Sand land… It was easy to apply – I used 3 coats – and it dried pretty quickly. It did need a bit more dry time than other matte polishes I’ve tried but the wear was worth it. These swatches are 3 days in and going strong – I’m SO impressed.

Two very sugary & sparkly thumbs up from me!! Also, anytime I look at my hands I get this song stuck in my head… flashback! I’ve included a few more pictures for your viewing pleasure – enjoy! What do you think of the Liquid Sand/Pixie Dust/Textured finish?

Happy Wednesday!!

Extra sparkly in the sun!

  1. Where did you find the Zoya Pixie Dust polishes??? I’ve been looking for them at Ulta, but the one near me didn’t have many. I wasn’t into the textured polishes either until I saw the Zoya ones and now really want to try them!

  2. Love it!! I bought the beige one called Godiva but haven’t tried it yet!

  3. This one is gorgeous! I’m wearing Godiva right now and I love it! I also got Vespa and I’m really tempted to go back for this one. πŸ™‚

  4. I bought Vespa & NYX yesterday and by the time I got home I was kicking myself for not grabbing Godiva. I LOVE this line!

The original swatches I had seen looked a lot like Butter London’s No More Waity Katie (albeit less purple and more sparkly) but it obviously doesn’t compare!

    • Oh no – definitely not! I love NMWK but they are very very different.

    • I should probably reswatch NMWK..

Great idea, such a gorgeous and unique color and super underrated. Ps I’ve always been curious, any reason why Alli posts more often than you? Not complaining, love both your posts, just always wondered!

      • Just depends on my schedule πŸ™‚ My work tends to get pretty intense at times. Right now is pretty busy, I really want to post more again – I posted a bunch in January – That’s what I’d prefer – 3ish times a week or so πŸ™‚

This color looks great on you! I was reluctant at first but I’ve come to really like the textured polish trend. Milani makes some nice bright ones sans sparkle. Have you seen the new JulieG Frosted Gumdrop colors yet?

  7. I’m just like you and it was the Zoya ones that first piqued my interest. Then I slowly fell in love and totally get it now πŸ™‚

  8. I know I have been talking a lot about Pixie Dust over Liquid Sand… but I think your amazing swatches say it all! Loving Nyx with jeans..lol I can’t wait for the Summer collection!!!
