The promo images for China Glaze’s Spring 2013 Avant Garden collection have had me dreaming of spring for a month now! And while the weather here in Charlotte can’t seem to settle on a season, it’s been spring according to my manicure for a couple of weeks now.
Mimosa’s Before Mani’s is right up my alley. First of all, the name should just be my new life motto. Secondly, it’s very well documented that I have a serious love affair with coral and orange polishes.
China Glaze describes Mimosa’s Before Mani’s as a coral with a light wash of shimmer. While I do agree with the light wash of shimmer I would classify this polish as more of an orange and less of a coral. The color reminds me of orange sherbet. It’s a very subtle orange which is a twist on orange I haven’t seen.
As far as the shimmer goes it’s not really noticeable to the naked eye. It does give the polish a bit of a pearly look, though. The macro shots below the jump give you a good look at the shimmer.
The formula is great. I used three coats in my swatches.
I wore this polish for several days. I originally put it on to go with a leopard print dress but after a day or so I got a bit bored with the color. I topped it with NYC Broadway Smash and really loved the combination of colors. I know alot of you are way over crackle polish (but considering the amount of support I got for this manicure over on TDV FB page some of you aren’t!). If you want to check out that manicure there are swatches below the jump.
