Essie – Bobbing for Baubles + Stroke of Brilliance

essie - bobbing for baublesFrom nudes, to glitter, to neutrals and on to blues! I’m all over the polish map lately! I quickly snapped up Bobbing for Baubles when Essie’s Winter 2011 Collection: Cocktail Bling was released. I’ve worn it several times since and been continually impressed with it. Sadly, I never got around to reviewing it and it got lost in the shuffle… until today!!! I’ve had this polish on the brain ever since I spotted this polish in a new Essie’s Best Of Collection display.

Bobbing for Baubles (cute name!) is a dusty navy blue. Fun fact: navy is probably my favorite color… ever. Essie describes this polish as a deepest darkest sapphire. I suppose that’s okay, but dusty navy works just as well! This is a dreamy polish to apply. Two smooth coats, no problems at all.

I also decided to try out a glitter from my untried list: essie’s Stroke of Brilliance – click below to see and let me know what you think!

Happy almost Friday!!

This looks gorgeous with Stroke of Brilliance!

  2. I used Sephora’s Indi-go With the Flow to cover up a bad salon manicure (similar navy blue base) and it looked like this. I couldn’t stop looking at my nails when I had it! Reminds me of the night sky. Your post tells me it’s time do it again (but with a better manicure)! I’ve been avoiding cheap-y salons and using TDV nail care posts; my nails and cuticles are in much better shape! Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. I love it! I have both, but haven’t worn them together. I’ll be remedying that soon!

  4. Pretty! I love Bobbing for Baubles! I fell in love with Dior Blue Label but I decided I didn’t need it since my Essie looks every bit as gorgeous. Love the combo you have here.

    • Thank you! Dior Blue Label is gorgeous, but I agree – plenty of navy polishes can give you the same look 🙂 I’ve never tried Dior polish, I keep waiting for the “perfect” one to justify the price.. ah!

  5. Pretty – I really like Stroke of Brilliance but had only put it over a dove gray or a lilac – looks great over this darker blue – lightens the base up. Am pretty sure I bought Bobbing for Baubles will dig for it when I get back home.

  6. Reblogged this on Law of Polish.
