2012 Round Up and Top Posts (+ the best manicure I never posted)

TopviewsIt’s 2013!!

I’m super excited about the new year but before we officially move on here at TDV I wanted to wrap up 2012.

It was a big year around here. The highlight probably being interviewed by CNN (seriously still can’t believe I talked to CNN about nail art….) for an article on Olympic nail art. But there were also some other awesome things that happened. Katie and I collaborated on a guest post for one of my favorite websites, Stylitics. Stylitics was also kind enough to feature me in their style spotlight. TDV was featured on elleandblair.com in one of their Member Spotlights. And probably the most unusual thing that happened in 2012 was being featured in the Dutch tennis magazine, Forty Love.

Various manicures were also featured around the web including on Fashionista, MTV Style (twice!) , OPI’s Facebook page, Beauty High and The Huffington Post.

2012 also marked the beginning of The Daily Varnish Extra, where Katie and I occasionally post about things not related to nails polish, as well as our page on Pinterest.

Despite all the outside things that were taking place our main focus was on this blog. The number of regular readers has grown so much over the past year and we really do appreciate all the comments, emails, tweets, etc offering your support and suggestions. If there is something you would like to see more of (or less!) over the next year please leave a comment! Whether it’s DIYs, nail art, coverage of a specific brand, etc, we love hearing y’alls suggestions.

Below the jump are the 10 most popular posts of 2012 (based of views from each general posts, DIYs and nail art) as well as the best manicure I did in 2012 that I never posted! I know, what’s wrong with me?

Here’s to a fabulous 2013!

  1. Congrats on such a fabulous 2012! Here is to an amazing 2013 for the both of you girls!!! Thanks so much for keeping us up to date with the latest trends…

    • Happy 2013 to you too, Elena! I read through some of your 2013 Trend posts and I’m loving them! You actually managed to get me excited and inspired for nudes and neons. Maybe it’s time to open up my Julep Box..

      • Thanks so much for reading! I always look forward to the Daily Varnish and even have my mom and husband reading it with me! Can’t wait to see the Julep box ( whenever it decides to ship…lol) I am feeling the nudes and neons more than the Easter egg thing that Zoya and Butter London have going on…

      • Which style did you end up getting? I got my Julep box today… or maybe yesterday. Either way, I posted mine today over on The Daily Varnish Extra – – I love that your mom and husband read too! That’s so fun! I’ve gotten my mom back into nail polish recently and I love it!

  3. I’m an It Girl (lol sounds so funny saying that), but I was not feeling the hot mess of yellow and orange together. I liked the yellow but not enough. Ended up with the Boho Glam ( Fiona & Teresa) and added Madison ( the hot pink) on…
