OPI Sapphire in the Snow

Ah yes. The polish that almost didn’t happen that turned out to be one of my favorite polishes ever.

OPI’s 2009 holiday collection, Holiday Wishes, was not one of my favorites. I initially didn’t purchase one polish from the collection. Then I spotted Sapphire in the Snow at Beauty Brands on clearance for under $3. I mean, you can’t expect me to say no to a dark purple OPI polish for less than $3!

Sapphire in the Snow is a gorgeous deep purple creme with heavy blue undertones. It is the exact color of a star sapphire. Just gorgeous!

Application was wonderful. As a habitual three coater, it is rare I only use two coats, but I did with this polish.

I have alot of polishes in my collection that are similar to this but no dead on dupes. If you have any dupe suggestions please let me know!

As always, there are more swatches below the jump 🙂

  1. Indeed a classic and one that every collection needs. I soooooo miss the great OPI holiday collections they used to put out…I would wait all yr for them. Some yrs when I did not buy any other polishes I would also be certain to look for the OPI holiday collections because they always had something wonderful in them. Some of my all time fav ever shades have come from these collections – bring back the old holiday collection please OPI!!! Ya think it’s not maybe politically correct anymore or what?

    • I don’t think it’s a PC issue as plenty of other polish companies release holiday collections. OPI just likes the money and exposure from these collaboration collections!

  2. Vthat is seriously beautiful. I am very jealous!

  3. I have heard Zoya Pinta is a dupe… Don’t have either, personally. How does OPI Siberian Nights compare?
