Olympian Nails: Dana Vollmer

I absolutely love the Olympics – especially Olympic swimming! Like Alli, I grew up in the pool and had to retire due to shoulder injuries. In addition to seeing such awesome talent across all the sports, I love seeing what the female athletes are rocking on their nails (and if you do too – you should check out The Daily Varnish Pinterest board dedicated to Olympian Nails!

While most are showing off their patriotic side, gold medalist and world record holder, Dana Vollmer tweeted her “lucky white polish with a little added dalmatian flair” nails.

To recreate this look I used Sally Hansen’s White On for my base and used my ORLY dotting tool for the dots using essie’s Black Licorice – my all time favorite black polish. It was very easy and fun and I really like Vollmer’s mani is so different from most other Olympians.  If you’d like to re-create this look, just grab your favorite black and white polishes and you can make your own dotting tool instead of buying one (DIY: Dotting Tool).

OH! Make sure to check out Alli’s version of Missy Franklin’s nails!

Do you have Olympic fever? What’s your favorite thing about The Olympics?
