Essie Coat Azure

Essie Coat AzureI was pretty excited to hear Essie was doing a French collection. I have a little bit of a love affair with France, so I love all the names. French Affair is the Spring 2011 collection, and I spotted it at Wal-Mart of all places. It breaks my heart a little (ok, alot) that Essie is now available at Wal-Mart and drugstores. And I hate, even loathe, the sticker on the side of the bottles that say essie.

Coat Azure is slightly dusty light blue with shimmer. I really love the color, and I was surprised by the formula. Usually Essie polishes can be a bit on the thin side, but this one was not. After two coats the color was completely opaque.

The only complaint I have about this polish is the wear. It didn’t chip, it peeled, which is very odd. I used my usual top coat (Essie Good to Go!) so I don’t think that was the problem.

Overall, I like this polish and I still want to pick up Nice is Nice from this collection. But I don’t think I’ll be buying it at Wal-Mart or a drugstore. This polish was $7.75 at Wal-Mart, which is not significantly cheaper than at Ulta where there are often sales. I much prefer the salon bottle as well.
