Revlon Top Speed Royal

Revlon RoyalRevlon has a new line of polishes out; Top Speed. The line has 24 polishes that are supposed to dry in 60 seconds. At $5.99, they are more expensive than Revlon’s normal polishes. I picked up one to give the line a try.

Royal caught my eye immediately. In the bottle it looks like a gorgeous blurple creme. Come to find out, it is actually a jelly. Which thrilled me greatly. I love OPI Dating a Royal.

Application was good for a jelly. I used three coats (and as you can see in the picture, it became fairly opaque for a jelly).

I love the color, but this is supposed to be a quick dry polish, right? Right. Well, it did dry quickly (I decided to forego a top coat to test out the drying time). Or at least I thought. It felt dry to the touch. I did this manicure several hours before I went to bed and woke up with bed nails.

Paying $6 for a quick dry drugstore polish that just give you bed nails is too much. I do love this color and intend to use it with my normal top coat, but I won’t be purchasing any more polishes from this collection unless they come out with some amazing colors.

  1. Hi! I tried the Stormy greige color and I think it dried pretty quick. And I only needed 2 coats which cut down dry time. It was not a jelly so more opaque than the Royal shade.

    • Thanks for the info.

I may eventually break down and try another shade. I’m not disappointed in this color or the application, just disappointed I paid so much for a drugstore nail polish that really didn’t dry quickly 🙂

  2. HI! I LOVE this color! I bought it the moment it came out, but only did my nails last night, and used Seche Vite as a top coat. I had no problem with the drying time, the finish, nor anything else. Initially, I was disappointed at the flat finish once the varnish dried, but that was rectified by the S.V. Hope that helps! =)
