OPI Kinky in Helsinki

OPI Kinky in HelsinkiThis polish was originally released in OPI’s Fall 2002 European collection. I didn’t get it then, I picked it up as a rerelease (my bottle is a green label) in 2009. I wore this polish CONSTANTLY that Summer but for one reason or another (well, really, because I have too much nail polish) haven’t worn it much sense.

Kinky in Helsinki is a purple leaning fuchsia with a fair share of microglitter. I love this polish because while it’s a bright fun color it’s not too bright (I’m just going to pretend that made sense…). This is one of those polishes that is kind of a hybrid. When applying this polish it has a bit of a jelly feel. But it applies nicely in 2 to 3 coats.

So, I put on this nail polish and realized it looked VERY similar to the current color on my toes; OPI Orchid You Not!. Well, the reason they looked so similar is because they are 100% exactly the same nail polishes. Orchid You Not! was a BeautyBrands Spring 2010 exclusive. When I purchased Orchid You Not! it didn’t even cross my mind that it even looked similar to Kinky in Helsinki.

I did a quick comparison to confirm my suspicious, and they are literally exactly the same. So, the good news is, I was in BeautyBrands not long ago and they still had plenty of bottles of Orchid You Not!. Because it’s a BeatyBrands exclusive it’s around $5, so it’s cheaper than OPI’s normal polishes.

Kinky in Helsinki is currently not part of OPI’s Classics collection. They have obviously rereleased it on occasion, but I do think it is still relatively hard to find. Orchid You Not! should be very easy to find (either at BeautyBrands or on eBay).

Hooray for dupes!
